Dafo Vehicle gains SBF 127:17 certification for Forrex EVO in fire protection systems

Dafo Vehicle Fire Protection has achieved the SBF 127:17 certification in Sweden for its fluorine-free Forrex EVO fire suppression system, meeting the country’s stringent fire safety standards. This certification requires the Forrex EVO system to function at a capacity of 3 litres per cubic metre, ensuring robust fire protection across high-risk industries, including mining, forestry, and construction. The SBF 127:17 standard imposes rigorous requirements for vehicle fire suppression systems in challenging environments. Dafo’s Forrex EVO system meets these specifications with fluorine-free agents, supporting environmental sustainability while delivering reliable fire detection and suppression performance.

For customers still using the traditional Forrex agent, Dafo has outlined that compliance with SBF 127:17 demands a capacity of 3.75 litres per cubic metre. Systems originally designed to the SBF 127:16 standard may continue with previous requirements if system designs remain unchanged. These updated standards primarily affect Dafo’s SV-K and SV-B systems, establishing clear volume requirements based on the fire suppression agent used and system design.

While SBF 127:17 is specifically applicable to the SV-K and SV-B systems, other systems may apply the standard 3 litres per cubic metre criteria according to individual risk assessments and Dafo’s design recommendations. Systems not governed by SBF 127 will follow other criteria specified in Dafo’s design manuals. Customers are encouraged to consult Dafo’s technical support team or relevant documentation to ensure compliance and optimal performance.

Dafo Vehicle’s SBF 127:17 certification for the fluorine-free Forrex EVO system represents a significant advancement in fire protection for high-risk industries, highlighting Dafo’s commitment to safety, reliability, and environmental responsibility in vehicle fire suppression solutions.
