Pye-Barker Secures New Minority Investments From ADIA, GIC

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety has announced the successful raising of additional capital to further enhance its investment in workforce development, improve customer service, and drive strategic growth through acquisitions. The transaction saw the company’s lead investors, Altas Partners and Leonard Green & Partners (LGP), continue their involvement, with Altas retaining the majority of its interest and LGP contributing new equity while maintaining a significant portion of its existing stake. This commitment underscores confidence in Pye-Barker’s leadership and long-term growth prospects.

A wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and GIC, a global institutional investor, also joined the investment round by acquiring minority stakes. The continuity of the primary investors ensures alignment with Pye-Barker’s strategy, which prioritizes exceptional customer service, team member care, and sustained growth.

Pye-Barker is placing significant focus on its nearly 8,000 team members by investing in talent development, mentoring programs, and career advancement opportunities. The new capital will be used to strengthen the company’s workforce infrastructure and provide team members with enhanced career paths, demonstrating a commitment to internal growth and employee satisfaction.

The company operates more than 250 branches across 45 states and continues its acquisitive growth strategy to expand its integrated, full-service customer offerings. CEO Bart Proctor emphasized the company’s vision of becoming the world’s leading fire protection and life safety organization, highlighting the importance of investor support in enabling Pye-Barker to prioritize its entrepreneurial and hardworking technicians. Chief Human Resources Officer Rebecca True added that Pye-Barker’s success is rooted in its people, with a focus on building a workplace defined by camaraderie and career-building opportunities.

From 2021 to 2024, Pye-Barker experienced a 587% growth rate, earning a spot at No. 849 on the Inc. 5000. The company also dedicates time and resources to community initiatives, supporting organizations like the Wounded Warrior Project, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation, among others. Through its focus on team development, customer care, and community support, Pye-Barker has established itself as a leader in fire protection and life safety services.
