Bayreuth. – The family-run company DESKO, based in Bayreuth, Germany, can once again look back on a very successful financial year achieving a record turnover of 24 million euros. The sale of hardware and software solutions for data capture and authentication of ID documents provided the medium-sized company with strong sales growth.
Although the German economy contracted for the second time in a row in the past calendar year and increasing competition also had a negative impact on German exports, DESKO remains on course for growth.

Thanks to our global presence, we are able to participate in the positive development of those economies that are already operating at pre-corona levels again. We are also seeing an increase in investment in solutions that serve national security. Both developments are having a positive impact.“, explains DESKO founder and Managing Director Werner Zahn.
It is striking that DESKO solutions are not only in high demand in the traditional “airline and airport” market, but that there is also an above-average demand in other industries with commercial applications:

Another reason for the very good business development is the investment in DESKO’s own software for authenticating identity documents, which will complement the established portfolio of special scanners in future. The number of employees in software development doubled in the past financial year.
