Satellite 2025 will bring together the global space and satellite community for four days from March 10 to 13, this year for the first time expanded to include the defense sector. Aaronia AG will be presenting the latest USB real-time spectrum analyzers, professional antenna technology and its entire spectrum dominance product portfolio alongside the world’s leading drone detection system Aartos at booth A2911.
Fast and, if necessary, broadband measurements are becoming increasingly important, especially in satellite communications, radar or wireless networks. Problems can only be detected, localized and eliminated with real-time analyzers that can quickly scan large frequency ranges if required. Since we are operating in the microwave range here, conventional electrical cables may no longer function efficiently. They suffer relatively high losses and can also distort the signal. Waveguides, on the other hand, are specially designed to transport such high-frequency signals effectively. This means that the signal received by the spectrum analyzer used for the measurement remains virtually unchanged.
With the SPECTRAN® V6 real-time spectrum analyzers of the XPR family, equipped with sweep speeds of >3THz/s and state-of-the-art waveguide technology, high-frequency and rapidly changing signals in the microwave range can be reliably analyzed and evaluated. The SPECTRAN V6 PLUS XPR 250XB-WR12, for example, offers 10dB NF at 77GHz. This makes it the perfect choice for radar measurements, for example in the automotive sector (76GHz to 81GHz). In addition, the V6 XPR series is an attractively priced solution despite its ability to stream IQ data continuously and without gaps. Thanks to the waveguide connection of the real-time spectrum analyzers from Aaronia AG, it will be possible in future to connect your own amplifier and splitter systems that meet the respective requirements.
Precise signal detection and localization
The SPECTRAN® V6 real-time spectrum analyzers enable extremely precise signal acquisition via Ultra Wide Band Panorama Spectrum Monitoring over a wide frequency range. “In this way, frequency interference in complex communication environments, for example, can be detected at an early stage. By adding Real-Time Direction Finding (rtDF), they can be determined quickly and precisely in real time and, if necessary, countermeasures can be initiated – a must-have not only for critical infrastructure,” explains Peter May, Technical Manager Measurement Technology at Aaronia AG.
Mobile Command Center
With the SPECTRAN® V6 Command Center, Aaronia AG presents the world’s fastest real-time spectrum analysis solution. The system enables extremely fast broadband frequency monitoring with simultaneous detailed analysis including data recording. Any signal can be displayed in a wide variety of ways. The demodulation or decoding of many signal types can also be carried out without any problems. This makes the SPECTRAN® V6 Command Center the basis for many solutions in the field of frequency regulation, signal localization or drone detection.
The system is supplied with 128 GB of RAM and has 8 terabytes of SSD data storage. If required, this can be expanded to up to 120 terabytes to store raw I/Q data of short signal pulses or long-term SPECTRA data. Thanks to the Smart Buffering solution, which overwrites the oldest data with new information, a virtually “unlimited” recording time is available.
The mobile real-time spectrum analyzer is equipped with two 24” 4K monitors and is housed in a robust, outdoor-suitable case with wheels for easy transportation. The two widescreen monitors provide a combined resolution of 3840 x 4320 pixels and are designed to display the entire frequency range or to monitor several frequency bands simultaneously in real time.
Powerful antennas
In order to fully exploit the performance of the SPECTRAN® V6 real-time spectrum analyzers, the world market leader from Germany will also be presenting its broadband antenna range at Satellite 2025. This includes the brand new PowerLOG® horn antennas up to 70GHz as well as various real-time direction finding solutions based on the improved and further developed IsoLOG® DF DF and tracking antenna.
The IsoLOG® DF 16-10180 has a frequency range of 1GHz – 18 GHz, while the IsoLOG® DF 16-20400 has a frequency range of 2GHz – 40 GHz. Thanks to its extremely high direction finding accuracy of up to 1° when using the SPECTRAN® real-time spectrum analyzers, the IsoLOG 3D DF series is the ideal solution for frequency monitoring or drone detection systems. The 360 degree coverage is achieved without mechanically rotating components within the antennas, which minimizes wear and failure. At the same time, switching speeds of up to 8 μs ensure reliable detection of even extremely short signals. By combining several systems, larger safety-critical areas such as airports can be additionally protected.
About Aaronia AG
Aaronia AG is a technology company based in Strickscheid in the Eifel region of Germany. Founded in 2003 by Thorsten Chmielus, the company mainly produces spectrum analyzers based on patented spectrum analysis processes. From conception and design to final assembly and software development, everything takes place in Germany. High tech made in Germany.
The first Spectrum Analyzer was produced and delivered in 2004. In 2008, the next generation of Spectrum Analyzers was presented with the V4 series, which set a world record in handheld sensitivity of DANL -170dBm (Hz). The 6th generation of SPECTRAN real-time analyzers has been on the market since 2020.
With the new generation of spectrum analyzers, AARONIA is raising the bar in terms of speed. By cascading several SPECTRAN devices, real-time bandwidths in the gigahertz range can be realized. The SPECTRAN® V6 series thus sets new benchmarks in the USB compact class. The system is used worldwide in numerous individual installations and complex systems.
With AARTOS DDS, Aaronia AG also provides a drone detection system with seamless ultra-wideband monitoring in real time. With more than 350 installations, AARTOS is now the world’s most successful anti-drone system. In use since 2015, the system is constantly being further developed to always meet the latest customer requirements. AARTOS thus offers optimum protection against unauthorized drone use for any type of critical infrastructure.
Aaronia AG develops, distributes and trades in measuring devices, technologies and rights in the field of low- and high-frequency measurement technology, robotics and the shielding of low- and high-frequency fields of all kinds. In addition, the company conducts basic research in the field of communications and measurement technology and designs its own circuit and measurement methods, particularly for the development of extremely sensitive and precise high-frequency measurement technology.
