Aronia impresses at GPEC digital 2025 Great interest in real-time solutions for protecting radio spectrum and critical infrastructure

Decision-makers, procurers, technicians and providers of homeland security, law enforcement and homeland security met at GPEC Digital 2025 in Leipzig at the beginning of April. At its stand, Aaronia AG demonstrated how reliable information on frequency usage and availability as well as the location of any interferers can be determined.

Spectrum management and situational awareness in conjunction with direction finding were the focus of interest for trade visitors. “Especially for the police, BKA, LKA, the military and the public sector or institutions, it is crucial to know what is going on in the frequency bands, where signals are coming from and whether measures need to be taken,” explains Peter May, Head of Measurement Technology at Aaronia AG. “The measuring equipment used must therefore be able to reliably detect extremely short signals as well as camouflaged or frequency hopping signals.”

The MOBILE-DF solution on show at GPEC digital is predestined for such applications. This is a portable signal location solution in tablet format. The integrated real-time spectrum analyzer can be used without restriction between 9 kHz and 7.25 MHz and therefore covers the most commonly used frequency range. Combined with the directional direction finding antenna of the HyperLOG series and a special software function, any emitter can be located by repeated direction finding and marking the location and direction of the direction finding signal. Thanks to the integrated sound generator, manual triangulation can be carried out conveniently by one person using headphones.

Another major advantage of all AARONIA solutions is the ability to configure them flexibly according to the respective requirements. “Within our solutions, we can flexibly adapt both the hardware and the software to the customer’s needs. This ensures that the person responsible always receives the information they need for their task,” says May.

The strengths of the new SPECTRUM COMMAND from Aaronia include direction finding, decoding, recording and analyzing complex signals anywhere and everywhere. The system covers a wide frequency range from 400 MHz to 40 GHz with a real-time bandwidth of up to 1,960 MHz and was enthusiastically received by the specialist audience.

About Aaronia AG
Aaronia AG is a technology company based in Strickscheid in the Eifel region of Germany. Founded in 2003 by Thorsten Chmielus, the company mainly produces spectrum analyzers based on patented spectrum analysis processes. From conception and design to final assembly and software development, everything takes place in Germany. High tech made in Germany.

The first Spectrum Analyzer was produced and delivered in 2004. In 2008, the next generation of Spectrum Analyzers was presented with the V4 series, which set a world record in handheld sensitivity of DANL -170dBm (Hz). The 6th generation of SPECTRAN real-time analyzers has been on the market since 2020.

With the new generation of spectrum analyzers, AARONIA is raising the bar in terms of speed. By cascading several SPECTRAN devices, real-time bandwidths in the gigahertz range can be realized. The SPECTRAN® V6 series thus sets new benchmarks in the USB compact class. The system is used worldwide in numerous individual installations and complex systems.

With AARTOS DDS, Aaronia AG also provides a drone detection system with seamless ultra-wideband monitoring in real time. With more than 350 installations, AARTOS is now the world’s most successful anti-drone system. In use since 2015, the system is constantly being further developed to always meet the latest customer requirements. AARTOS thus offers optimum protection against unauthorized drone use for any type of critical infrastructure.

Aaronia AG develops, distributes and trades in measuring devices, technologies and rights in the field of low- and high-frequency measurement technology, robotics and the shielding of low- and high-frequency fields of all kinds. In addition, the company conducts basic research in the field of communications and measurement technology and designs its own circuit and measurement methods, particularly for the development of extremely sensitive and precise high-frequency measurement technology.
