Axis Communications Enhances Surveillance Solutions in Africa

Global security and network surveillance technology provider Axis Communications has introduced two innovative solutions tailored for African businesses: AXIS Camera Station Edge (ACS Edge) and AXIS Camera Station Cloud Storage (ACS Cloud Storage). These new offerings aim to revolutionize network video management by integrating edge and cloud capabilities, enhancing the efficiency of physical security and surveillance systems.

According to Axis, ACS Edge processes video data directly on the camera itself, eliminating the need for external servers or cloud-based processing. This approach reduces infrastructure requirements, lowers the total cost of ownership, and minimizes operational expenses.

“With ACS Edge, we are offering a true cam-to-cloud solution, while the rest of our new ACS offering extends our customers the opportunity of on-premise, cloud, and hybrid solutions,” explained David Needham, Business Development Programme Manager for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The addition of ACS Edge and ACS Cloud Storage broadens Axis’ portfolio, enabling businesses to choose between cloud, on-premise, or hybrid surveillance systems based on their specific needs. Needham emphasized that this new generation of solutions empowers customers with enhanced control over their video surveillance systems, aligning with Axis Communications’ mission to deliver cutting-edge, cost-effective security technologies.
