Streamlight introduces Sledge rechargeable headlamp with THRO mode

Streamlight has introduced the new Sledge rechargeable flood headlamp, designed for both professional and outdoor use. The company highlights that the headlamp delivers four output modes, extended run times, and a temporary high-output feature suited for demanding tasks. Built for utility workers, contractors, work crews, as well as hikers and campers, the Sledge combines durable materials, rechargeable power, and reliable performance in the field. Available in black, the product is covered by Streamlight’s limited lifetime warranty.

The headlamp offers a range of technical performance options to meet varied lighting needs. On its High setting, the Sledge produces 600 lumens with a run time of four hours and 15 minutes. The Medium mode generates 300 lumens for nine hours and 15 minutes, while the Low setting provides 100 lumens for 13 hours. Its flood beam design ensures wide and consistent illumination, ideal for task work. A special feature, THRO (Temporarily Heightened Regulated Output), delivers a burst of 1,000 lumens for 60 seconds, activated with a three-second press. This mode is particularly useful for critical tasks requiring extra brightness on demand.

In terms of power supply, the headlamp can operate with the included SL-B26 rechargeable lithium-ion battery or two CR123A lithium batteries. The rechargeable option eliminates the need for disposables, with the SL-B26 battery recharging in five hours via USB-C. A built-in charge status indicator helps users monitor remaining power, enhancing reliability during extended use.

Durability is another key strength of the Sledge. The headlamp is constructed from polycarbonate thermoplastic with an aluminium faceplate and features an unbreakable polycarbonate lens. It is impact resistant up to two metres and rated IPX4 water resistant, enabling it to perform reliably in tough, wet environments.

The headlamp is also designed for comfort and flexibility. It comes with a rubber hardhat strap (pre-installed) and an elastic head strap for versatile, hands-free use. A 45-degree tilting head allows users to direct light precisely where needed. Compact in size at 4cm high, 9.5cm wide, and 4.4cm deep, the Sledge weighs just 130.4 grams including the battery pack, making it lightweight and easy to wear for long periods.

Streamlight positions the Sledge as a dependable lighting solution for both long work shifts and outdoor activities. “We designed the Sledge to meet the demands of hard-working professionals such as utility workers, contractors, and work crews, as well as outdoor users like hikers and campers,” said Michael F. Dineen, Streamlight President. “This headlamp is engineered to power long work shifts and deliver dependable performance, even in harsh environments.”

For fire and safety professionals, the Sledge may offer particular value. Its rechargeable power, multiple output settings, and high-intensity burst mode support changing visibility needs during operations. Combined with water resistance, rugged construction, and hands-free mounting options, the headlamp is well-suited for technical tasks and prolonged emergency responses.
