Ulticam, a new security camera brand by Xthings, a global IoT solutions provider, introduced its latest innovation, the Ulticam IQ Floodlight, at CES 2025. This edge AI-powered home security camera is joined by two additional models: the Ulticam IQ, an outdoor spotlight camera, and the Ulticam Dot, a portable wireless camera. All three cameras offer free cloud storage (7 days rolling) and subscription-free edge AI-powered person detection with alerts.
Attendees at CES can experience the full Ulticam lineup at Pepcom’s Digital Experience! on January 6, 2025, and at the Venetian Expo, Halls A-D, booth #51732, from January 7-10, 2025. These security cameras will be available for purchase online in the U.S. during Q1 and Q2 2025 on U-tec.com, Amazon, and Best Buy.
The Ulticam IQ Series, including the IQ and IQ Floodlight models, takes home security to the next level with advanced AI-powered recognition. As some of the first consumer cameras to use edge AI, the IQ Series quickly and accurately identifies people, faces, and vehicles without uploading video for server-side processing. This enhances speed, accuracy, security, and privacy. Additionally, the IQ Series is designed to evolve over time with over-the-air updates, unlocking new AI features.
Both models come with free cloud storage (7 days rolling) and 8 GB of built-in storage, expandable up to 128 GB via SD cards for additional recording capacity and dual-layer recording.
Designed to endure any environment, the Ulticam IQ Series cameras offer exceptional 2K Quad HD image quality, with 4K Ultra HD versions arriving in Q2 2025. The IQ model includes an integrated spotlight, while the IQ Floodlight features two powerful floodlights and color night vision. Both cameras activate when motion is detected, enhancing visibility and deterring intruders. The U home app offers real-time alerts, live viewing, two-way audio, and searchable footage. Four customizable detection zones help minimize false motion alerts.
Users can choose between Wi-Fi, LAN, 4G LTE, or Power over Ethernet (IQ model only) for connectivity. The IQ model supports plug-in power, while the IQ Floodlight is wired. Both models will integrate with Amazon Alexa and Google Home at launch.
Pricing for the Ulticam IQ 2K is $169 or $199 with optional 4G LTE connectivity, while the IQ Floodlight 2K is priced at $199 or $239 with optional 4G LTE connectivity. The IQ model will be available in Q1 2025, and the IQ Floodlight will follow in Q2 2025.
The Ulticam Dot (MSRP: $69) is a portable, wireless camera designed for personal security at home or on the go. Its compact, battery-powered, and weather-resistant design makes it ideal for use indoors or in covered outdoor areas, such as homes or hotel rooms. Like all Ulticam cameras, it offers free cloud storage, subscription-free person and motion detection, 2K Quad HD video, night vision, and an ultra-wide field of view. The Dot offers real-time alerts, two-way audio, and automatic dual-layer recording, along with customizable detection zones to reduce false alerts.
The Ulticam Dot comes with four replaceable AA alkaline batteries, 8GB built-in storage, an alarm siren, a magnetic base for mounting on metal surfaces, and adhesive for easy installation. It can stay in standby mode for up to nine months on lithium batteries, with in-use battery life depending on camera activity and environment.
Built-in Wi-Fi allows the Dot to connect directly to a home network without additional hubs, and the U home app provides seamless control. The Dot will support integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Home at launch, with availability starting in Q1 2025.
Matthew Brown, Ulticam’s Head of Marketing, stated, “Consumers are tired of being locked into costly monthly subscriptions, which is why Ulticam offers free cloud storage and advanced AI features without requiring any fees. Ulticam is setting a new standard for value and performance in the home security market, and we’re putting consumers first.”
