Iveda Adds Natural Language Search to IvedaAI Video Analytics

Iveda has unveiled a new natural language search capability for its IvedaAI video analytics platform, enabling users to interact with video data through plain-language prompts rather than relying on preconfigured filters or technical rules.

With the enhancement, operators can request results such as “a person wearing a bandana” or “a worker carrying food or drink”, simplifying forensic review, safety monitoring, and incident response. The feature supports both real-time alerts and post-event analysis without the need for custom programming.

According to Iveda CEO David Ly, the upgrade marks a significant step forward in making AI-powered video analytics more intuitive.

Real-world deployment
The feature is already being used by a construction client in East Asia, where it supports safety oversight across multiple sites. Supervisors receive alerts for scenarios such as “a worker without a helmet entering a restricted zone” or “a forklift idling near scaffolding.” The deployment is expected to generate about $1 million in additional revenue for Iveda this year.

Ly said adoption in construction reflects a broader shift: “Seeing an industry as traditional as construction now embracing AI represents a significant milestone.”

Roadmap and market outlook
The release builds on earlier IvedaAI enhancements, including automated camera discovery and simplified scene configuration, as part of the company’s 2025 innovation roadmap. The upgrades are designed to reduce deployment complexity while broadening the system’s applicability across industries.

Analysts project global AI spending will surpass $630 billion by 2028, driven largely by advances in large language models. Companies like Iveda are racing to integrate these capabilities into operational tools to meet growing demand for smarter, more efficient safety and monitoring solutions.
