Johnson Controls launches Hygood IGS-300 for fire suppression in critical facilities

Johnson Controls has introduced the Hygood Inert Gas System 300 (IGS-300), a fire suppression system developed to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive assets. Designed for use in diverse environments such as data centres, control rooms, laboratories, medical facilities, and heritage buildings, the system aims to simplify installation while delivering reliable performance and global compliance.

The IGS-300 operates at 60 bar using regulated flow technology, helping to minimise pressure spikes and reduce the need for complex pipework or oversized overpressure vents. Integrated acoustic nozzles reduce discharge noise, protecting vulnerable electronic equipment from potential sound-related damage. The system also supports a flexible layout with options for multiple container rows and extended pipe runs, offering efficient space utilisation.

The system has received UL Listing, FM Approval, and complies with EN 12094, carrying both CE and UKCA marks. These certifications ensure alignment with key international fire safety standards, including NFPA 2001, EN 15004, and ISO 14520, supporting global and UK-specific project requirements.

Installation and maintenance have been streamlined with simplified actuation, standardised components, and removable pressure gauges. A master container actuation design eliminates the need for a separate pilot container, contributing to a more compact and efficient setup.

Johnson Controls confirmed that the Hygood IGS-300 is available worldwide through authorised distributors, with regional support for recharging and service via its global network.
